Theresa Faith Cummings, a sixth-generation resident of Springfield, was the first director of the Community Action Agency’s Neighborhood Center.
In an interview for the Springfield African-American History Foundation series, Cummings discusses the center’s services, her family’s history in Springfield, family businesses, her education and career, and personal experiences with housing discrimination in Springfield.
I worked with Theresa at the Abandoned Mined Land Reclamation Council many years ago. She is a remarkable woman. Carol Childress-Taylor
