Lincoln Home 1918One of 25 sketches by Lester Hornby that are included in Lincoln in Illinois by Octavia Roberts (1918). Hornby, a founder of the Rockport (Me.) Art Colony, was an illustrator, lithographer, watercolor artist and war correspondent in World War I. Roberts, who grew up in Springfield, was a Maine resident for much of her married life.

    Fascinating little book written by Octavia. She was a very talented young woman. She wrote plays and skits for the Anti Rust Club and at least one of her plays was later published and utilized elsewhere.
